With 2018 in the rear view mirror, we are steadfast and looking forward to our 2019 goals. We have already set up goals and made plans for 2019. I’m sure some of you have already set up some new goals for 2019 too. If you want to read about our 2018, you can find it here!
Here are some of the most popular new year’s resolutions:
- Make more money
- Decrease stress
- Get healthier
- Spend more time with your loved ones
Did you make something similar to these? I know I did. Let’s get down to some.
Here is a dashboard view of the goals we have planned for this year. I have to give credit to Joe at RetireBy40 for this design set up. I tried to design something different. However, it was way more complicated and it did not simplify the information. I wanted to be able to see where I was at with my goals at a glance. I did not want to dig into a lot of data just to find my answers.
This year we plan to get our side hustle income to reach $1,000 or more. In 2018, we tested and tried many different things. By testing the water, we were able to see how the process works. We should be able to use these methods in 2019 to get a better idea of what I want to do and how to do it.
Generating passive income will be hard to do. We already have some income invested in M1Finance. If we invest more, we can definitely get our passive dividend income to grow more than $100. We also have other plans in works to grow our passive income. Hopefully, those becomes successful.
Many financial articles in 2018 stated that the majority of Americans do not have even $1,000 saved up for an emergency. Last year, we didn’t have $1,000 for an emergency, but we didn’t have an emergency situation either. This year we plan to build and keep at least $1,000 in our savings for an emergency.
Last year, we started investing. We purchased some index funds in M1Finance. The process was simple. However, we purchased the index fund around the peak of the market last year. Then the market dipped and we withheld purchasing some more. As of right now, the market is recovering. We will continue to purchase some more once we receive our income tax refund.
For the blog, I plan to at least post once a week. I want to dedicate more time and attention to the blog. This way I can eventually build the website to up and monetize the website.
In the Fall of 2018, I purchased a Honda civic coupe that wasn’t running for $300. I knew it would need a new motor. However, I
Happiness & Stress
This year, I plan to increase my happiness. By lowering my stress, it will put me in a happier state. I am introverted, so I plan to take a family vacation and build in some family time and some me time. My happiness doesn’t increase with me going out at night, socializing in a big group, and etc. It’s more about the subtle small things that I don’t have the time to do.
A personal goal that I have for this year is to lose 30 pounds. I want to shed some weight so I can have more energy to do more things. Also, it will allow me to get to a healthier state. This should be doable if
Last year, we were slashing our expenses. Since we were slashing expenses, we slash vacation out of the option. We did a staycation. A staycation is one where you stay at home and enjoy the relaxing of avoiding all outside noises. This year, we will be doing a small family vacation and enjoying some time exploring.
Looking forward to 2019 Goals
2018 came and went by fast! Now we are looking forward to what we will do in 2019. Time will fly by fast. It did that last year. This year, we have our plan and we will need to follow it to reach success! No more hesitating and testing but more action and doing.
